I love food.
Food itself may lack the sort of depth required to summon this verb's strength, but the ceremony is not. I love sitting around, debating grandiose problems or dissecting petty ones, having a bite of a well-made course, falling silent to appreciate its decadence, and resuming the previous debate with greater zeal. I love breaking bread with strangers as a way to understand them better and sharing plates with friends to try new treats together.
I appreciate the ingredients that make food great, and I admire the time and effort it takes to create and execute a meal. And, most of all, I simply love food. I am not a picky eater--there are very few foods or cuisines that I do not like--but I only like good food.
That is why I am compiling a list, from food trucks to four star establishments, in New York City as a guide to take a bite out of the Big Apple. It shall serve as a reminder to me and, hopefully, a reference to you.
Bon Appétit.
Bon Appétit.
